Text Messaging Policy & Consent

Who this applies to

Fullerton Rotary Club (“the Club,” “we,” “us”) is a nonprofit membership organization chartered by Rotary International. This SMS policy applies to active dues-paying members of the Club who have provided a mobile phone number and opted in to text message communication, and to any individual who contacts our messaging number directly.

What messages you will receive

When you opt in, you may receive text messages from the Club including:

• Weekly reminders for the Wednesday lunch meeting at Coyote Hills Country Club
• Event announcements, RSVP requests, and updates for club service projects and the annual Fullerton Uncorked charity fundraiser
• Dues reminders and administrative notices
• Replies to questions you send us by text
• Occasional time-sensitive updates from club officers or committee chairs

We do not send marketing messages to non-members on this number, and we do not share your phone number with third parties.

Message frequency

Typical frequency is 2 to 8 messages per month, depending on the cadence of club events and your role in the Club. Frequency may be higher in the weeks leading up to major events such as Fullerton Uncorked.

Message and data rates may apply according to your mobile carrier plan.

How to opt in

You can opt in to Club text messages through:

• Member portal toggle — log in at rotary.datawake.io/portal/profile/notifications and enable “Receive text messages from Rotary Club of Fullerton.”
• Membership application — check the SMS opt-in box when applying to join the Club.
• In-person sign-up sheet — sign the SMS consent sheet at a chartered Club meeting. Club officers record these consents directly in the member database.
• Text keyword — reply START, JOIN, YES, or SUBSCRIBE to our messaging number from your mobile phone.

When you opt in, you will receive a confirmation text welcoming you to Club SMS updates and summarizing how to opt out.

How to opt out

You can stop receiving Club text messages at any time:

• Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, or OPTOUT) to any message from our number. You will be removed from our SMS list immediately.
• Portal toggle— turn off “Receive text messages” at rotary.datawake.io/portal/profile/notifications.
• Contact us — email dustin@datawake.io and we will remove your number manually.

Supported keywords

AI-assisted replies

To help members get quick answers to common questions (such as “what time is Wednesday’s meeting?” or “where do you meet?”), the Club may use an AI assistant to reply to some inbound text messages. AI replies are always clearly labeled as AI-generated. The AI does not have access to sensitive member information, financial data, or the ability to take actions on your behalf. Any question that is sensitive, personal, or outside the AI’s scope is routed to a human club administrator who will respond directly.

Privacy

Your phone number and the contents of text messages you send to the Club are stored securely in our member database and are used only for the purposes described on this page. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
